Fish Habitat Enhancement ProjectsWhat is the Purpose of this Permit?To streamline projects which are designed to enhance fish habitat. The applicant's project must meet certain requirements as required by WDFW and stated on the application for the Streamlined Process for Fish Habitat Enhancement Projects.If the project meets the criteria of the Fish Habitat Enhancement Project permit then the applicants project is exempt from SEPA and local permits and fees. If only a portion of the project qualifies then the remainder of the project must be covered under the full permitting process. What Activities Require this Permit?The applicant must meet the specified requirements stated on the permit application form.Where Can I Get the Application for this Permit?The application which is called 'Streamlined Process for Fish Habitat Enhancement Projects, Addition to the Joint Aquatic Permit Application Form (JARPA)' is online and can be accessed at http://www.epermitting.wa.gov/site/alias__resourcecenter/jarpa_jarpa_form/9984/jarpa_form.aspx.Do I Need to Include Anything with my Application?Yes. Your application must include general plans for the project, complete plans and specifications for the proposed construction or work within the mean higher high water line in salt water or within the ordinary high water line in fresh water, and complete plans and specs for the proper protection of fish life. You must also include a copy of the JARPA, the fish habitat enhancement project application form, and proof of sponsorship of the project. On the same day, you must submit the complete application package to the appropriate local government planning department for review.How Long Will it Take to Review my Application?Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has 45 days to make a determination. The local planning department has 15 days to submit their comments to WDFW.Where do I Submit my Application?You must submit your JARPA and cover addition, on the same day, to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and your local planning and permitting department.
