What is the Purpose of this Permit?
To allow a commercial vehicle to exceed legal weight limits with a weight that does not change. Fixed Load vehicles include vehicles such as cranes, cement pumping trucks, and well drilling trucks.

What Activities Require this Permit?
This permit is an overweight permit for a vehicle with a weight that does not change, such as cranes, cement pumping trucks, and well drilling trucks. Fixed loads with 3 axles may be permitted up to 65,000 lbs. and fixed loads with 4 axles may be permitted up to 86,000 lbs. with the appropriate wheelbase and tire size. An axle spacing report is required to issue a fixed load permit.

Do I Need to Include Anything with my Application?
Yes - An axle spacing report (DOT Form 560-013) is required to issue a fixed load permit. To produce the Axle Spacing Report for Overweight Permits use: https://secure3.wsdot.wa.gov/commercialvehicle/permits/public/AxleSpacingReport.aspx, or call 360-704-6340 for assistance.
Is the Decision on my Permit Dependent on Anything Besides the Information in my Application?
Yes - The Axle Spacing Report (DOT Form 560-013) is required to issue a Fixed Load Permit.
How Long Will it Take to Review my Application?
Same day service if application is received before 3 pm. Permit can also be self-issued.

Applications can be submitted in person or by fax to any WSDOT Commercial Vehicle Permitting Agent or WSDOT Permitting Office. Notes / Comments:
Check Road and Bridge Restrictions prior to movement. This permit is exempt (if length does not exceed 45 feet) from: Commuter hour and holiday restrictions, Oversize sign requirements, night-time travel restrictions, & winter restrictions prohibiting permitted movement when traction tires/devises/chains are advised, recommended or required but must obey chain requirements.
Permit Timeliness Results

Permit Timeliness data collection is in response to a State Auditor’s Performance Audit and RCW 43.42A. Each regulatory agency developed a plan to improve permit clarity, predictability, and timeliness. Each agency considers the customers experience to ensure permit assistance is simple to use, easy to access, and designed in a customer-friendly manner. Agencies report progress to the Governor’s Office for Regulatory Innovation and Assistance (ORIA). ORIA prepares and distributes reports, with participation from the State Auditor’s Office and Results Washington.
