What is the purpose of this permit?
To allow operating vehicles with oversize/overweight loads for one single specific trip.

How much will this permit cost?
Fee is based on weight over total registered weight at a fee per mile on State Highways. To Calculate estimated fee amount visit: https://www.wsdot.wa.gov/commercial-vehicle/permits/home

The application is called 'DOT Form 560-021' is online and can be accessed at https://wsdot.wa.gov/travel/commercial-vehicles/commercial-vehicle-permits.
Do I need to include anything with my application?
No - Only the permit application and permit fee is required to issue the permit.
Is the decision on my permit dependent on anything besides the information in my application?
No - However should restrictions be in place on planned route the permit could be declined. In that case a new route may have to be determined.
How long will it take to review my application?
This permit is issued as requested. There is no review time necessary.

How long is my permit valid?
Permits are valid for a single trip, up to three (3) days from the date of purchase, Monthly (30-days), or annual from the date of purchase
What is the appeal process for the permit?
N/A
Notes / Comments:
Mileage is necessary to compute fees. Minimum fee is $14.00. Routes of Travel are also required to determine if roadway restrictions exist on proposed route. If restrictions exist, permit will may be denied and a new route can be determined.

Each regulatory agency developed a plan to improve permit clarity, predictability, and timeliness. Each agency considers the customers experience to ensure permit assistance is simple to use, easy to access, and designed in a customer-friendly manner.
